A humanistic approach.
1:1 Yoga Therapy Sessions
My approach as a therapist is trauma-informed and strengths-based. During our first session I help you to identify a wellness goal, following a holistic assessment of your health and overall well-being using what is known as the Integrated Systems Model (ISM), which seeks to locate and treat the root of an issue rather than simply chasing after its symptoms. Over the course of our sessions, I offer you a curated program with somatic (body-based) tools and experiences to support your wellness in a way that is optimal for you as an individual.
Sessions can include breathwork, stretching or strengthening postures, restorative yoga, mindfulness practices, and gentle touch (if desired). A minimum of five sessions is recommended for significant improvement.
Sessions may take place virtually or in your Vancouver-area home.
Support Partners Yoga Therapy
Relationships bring us meaning, a tapestry of learning and the connections we form are foundational to health. I offer a form of partner-based somatic (body-mind) therapy that equips life partners, family members, collaborators, or close friends with skills to support one another in their daily lives with stress management and emotion regulation tools.
Support Partners Yoga Therapy gives you the opportunity to explore and gain experience in using practices that will allow you and your partner to be greater resources to one and other and to connect more deeply. Sessions may included facilitated breath work, visualization, mindfulness explorations, and partner-assisted restorative practices. Multiple sessions are recommended to integrate your learnings within a supportive setting.
Sessions may take place virtually or in your Vancouver-area home.
